Biographies of the HTS Salvation Government Ministers
Know the people behind the Syrian transitional Caretaker Government
On December 8, Ahmad al-Shar’a (Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani) tasked Muhammad al-Bashir, the Prime Minister of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-backed civilian government, the Syrian Salvation Government, to form a caretaker government with the old regime ministries to transition the institutions of the state until a new system is announced by March 1, 2025. To provide more details on the HTS/SSG side of the caretake government, it is the same minister’s that have been heads of the ministries since the beginning of the seventh session of the SSG, which began in January/February 2024. Therefore, below you will find the biographies that the SSG released on all of its current ministers and who are now in control of the different ministries for the transitional caretaker government.
Prime Minister: Engineer Muhammad al-Bashir
Born in Jabal Zawiya, Idlib Governorate in 1983
Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Aleppo in 2007
Bachelor of Sharia and Law, Idlib University
Worked as Head of the Precision Instruments Department at the Syrian Gas Plant in 2011
Director of Al-Amal Educational Institute for one year
Director of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Endowments, Dawa, and Guidance for 2.5 years
Completed an Advanced English Language course issue by the Ministry of Education in 2010
Director of Associations Affairs at the Ministry of Development and Humanitarian Affairs
Certificate in Principles of Administrative Planning and Organization in 2021
Project Management Certificate issued by the International Academy for Training, Languages, and Consulting in 2021
Minister of Development in the Salvation Government in its fifth and sixth sessions (2022-23)
